MUSIC AT CEDARVILLE

Music plays a very large role in the worship life at Cedarville UMC.  Each Sunday, music enriches our worship, with the goal of bringing each toward the throne of Christ. Cedarville currently has five music ministry ensembles.

Chancel Choir – under the direction of Kathryn Ballein, the choir sings during the 11:00 traditional service each Sunday morning September through May. The choir practices each Thursday evening, September through May, at 7:30 PM in the Parlor.

Praise Team – singers and instrumentalists practice each week to bring music to the 9:30 contemporary worship service.  Chris Vogel leads the team of instruments and singers, currently include Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Saxophone, and Violin.  The Praise Team practices each Thursday evening at 6:15 PM in the Family Life Center.

Bell Choir – The handbell choir is under the direction of Lori Snavely and adds music each month to the 11:00 traditional service.  The group rehearses on Thursday evenings at 6:30 and is always looking for new ringers.

Cedarville Brass – For more than 30 years, a group of men have blessed Cedarville with brass quartet music.  Under the direction of Tom Lambert, the Cedarville Brass accompany the hymns and play sepcial music on the third Sunday of each month.  The Cedarville Brass can also be heard on Christmas Eve and Easter morning, where they play from the porch of the St. James house as worshippers come to church Easter morning.

Enjoy a special musical performance from the Cedarville UMC Virtual Choir singing the anthem “Love Grows Here,” and be blessed!
