Believe 9 – Stewardship: From Owner to Manager

Psalm 24 (CEB)

1- The earth is the Lordís and everything in it,? the world and its inhabitants too.?

2- Because God is the one who established it on the seas;?

God set it firmly on the waters.

3- Who can ascend the Lordís mountain??

Who can stand in his holy sanctuary??

4- Only the one with clean hands and a pure heart;?

the one who hasnít made false promises,? the one who hasnít sworn dishonestly.

?5- That kind of person receives blessings from the Lord? and righteousness from the God who saves.?

6- And thatís how things are? with the generation that seeks him that seeks the face of Jacobís God.

7- Mighty gates: lift up your heads!? Ancient doors: rise up high!?

So the glorious king can enter!?

8- Who is this glorious king?? The Lordóstrong and powerful!?

The Lordópowerful in battle!

?9- Mighty gates: lift up your heads!?

Ancient doors: rise up high!?

So the glorious king can enter!?

10- Who is this glorious king??

The Lord of heavenly forces he is the glorious king!

Believe 8 – Compassion

Scriptures:   James 2:15-16; Colossians 3:12; 1 Peter 3:8
James 2:15-16 (NIV)
15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, ìGo in peace; keep warm and well fed,î but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
Colossians 3:12 (NIV)
12 Therefore, as Godís chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
1 Peter 3:8 (NIV)
8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

John 3:16 (CEB)
16 God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him wonít perish but will have eternal life.

∑ Matthew 18:1-6 (CEB)
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, ìWho is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?î

2 Then he called a little child over to sit among the disciples, 3 and said, ìI assure you that if you donít turn your lives around and become like this little child, you will definitely not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Those who humble themselves like this little child will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

6 ìAs for whoever causes these little ones who believe in me to trip and fall into sin, it would be better for them to have a huge stone hung around their necks and be drowned in the bottom of the lake.

Believe 6 – the Bible

Ephesians 4:1-7, 11-6

As a prisoner for the Lord, I encourage you to live as people worthy of the call you received from God. Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love, and make an effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties you together. You are one body and one spirit, just as God also called you in one hope. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is over all, through all, and in all.

God has given his grace to each one of us measured out by the gift that is given by Christ.

11 He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. 12 His purpose was to equip God’s people for the work of serving and building up the body of Christ 13 until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of God’s Son. God’s goal is for us to become mature adults—to be fully grown, measured by the standard of the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we aren’t supposed to be infants any longer who can be tossed and blown around by every wind that comes from teaching with deceitful scheming and the tricks people play to deliberately mislead others. 15 Instead, by speaking the truth with love, let’s grow in every way into Christ, 16 who is the head. The whole body grows from him, as it is joined and held together by all the supporting ligaments. The body makes itself grow in that it builds itself up with love as each one does its part.

Believe 5 – A New Life

2 Corinthians 5:15-18 New Living Translation (NLT)

15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

16 So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

Luke 4:17-19 New Living Translation (NLT)

17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:

18 ìThe Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the Lordís favor has come.[a]î

Believe 4 – The Bible

2 Timothy 3:10-17 (Common English Bible)

Take Paul as your model

10 But you have paid attention to my teaching, conduct, purpose, faithfulness, patience, love, and endurance. 11 You have seen me experience physical abuse and ordeals in places such as Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I put up with all sorts of abuse, and the Lord rescued me from it all! 12 In fact, anyone who wants to live a holy life in Christ Jesus will be harassed. 13 But evil people and swindlers will grow even worse, as they deceive others while being deceived themselves.

14 But you must continue with the things you have learned and found convincing. You know who taught you. 15 Since childhood you have known the holy scriptures that help you to be wise in a way that leads to salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus. 16 Every scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing mistakes, for correcting, and for training character, 17 so that the person who belongs to God can be equipped to do everything that is good.

Believe 3 – God’s Plan “B”

Scripture for Sunday, Sept. 22 – Mark 5:21-43
Jesus heals two people

21 Jesus crossed the lake again, and on the other side a large crowd gathered around him on the shore. 22 Jairus, one of the synagogue leaders, came forward. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet 23 and pleaded with him, ìMy daughter is about to die. Please, come and place your hands on her so that she can be healed and live.î 24 So Jesus went with him.

A swarm of people were following Jesus, crowding in on him. 25 A woman was there who had been bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a lot under the care of many doctors, and had spent everything she had without getting any better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 Because she had heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his clothes. 28 She was thinking, If I can just touch his clothes, Iíll be healed. 29 Her bleeding stopped immediately, and she sensed in her body that her illness had been healed.

30 At that very moment, Jesus recognized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, ìWho touched my clothes?î

31 His disciples said to him, ìDonít you see the crowd pressing against you? Yet you ask, ëWho touched me?íî 32 But Jesus looked around carefully to see who had done it.

33 The woman, full of fear and trembling, came forward. Knowing what had happened to her, she fell down in front of Jesus and told him the whole truth. 34 He responded, ìDaughter, your faith has healed you; go in peace, healed from your disease.î

35 While Jesus was still speaking with her, messengers came from the synagogue leaderís house, saying to Jairus, ìYour daughter has died. Why bother the teacher any longer?î

36 But Jesus overheard their report and said to the synagogue leader, ìDonít be afraid; just keep trusting.î 37 He didnít allow anyone to follow him except Peter, James, and John, Jamesí brother. 38 They came to the synagogue leaderís house, and he saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, ìWhatís all this commotion and crying about? The child isnít dead. Sheís only sleeping.î 40 They laughed at him, but he threw them all out. Then, taking the childís parents and his disciples with him, he went to the room where the child was. 41 Taking her hand, he said to her, ìTalitha koum,î which means, ìYoung woman, get up.î 42 Suddenly the young woman got up and began to walk around. She was 12 years old. They were shocked! 43 He gave them strict orders that no one should know what had happened. Then he told them to give her something to eat.
